Une peinture qui ne tient pas la route
acrylic on canvas
The art school I attended in Lausanne, écal, is the kingdom of swiss geometric painting. Tape is the means to achieve perfect lines of plain color.
This painting is my first try with this tape technique. But instead of abstract geometric shapes, I made a crashed car. In french, 'Ne pas tenir la route' means not being good enough, and literally means 'not staying on the road'.
This painting is probably not good enough to be an abstract swiss painting, but it correctly depicts a car which could stay on its road.
But in the end, it's really just some color on fabric.
