As an immediate follow-up to that painting, I made this one.

It's two cans of tuna one on top of the other. Something loosely related to some pop artist in the 1960's.

Tuna in french is 'thon'. Except for the 'h', the pronunciation is the same as another word, 'ton', which means tone. A painting 'thon sur thon' is a painting 'tone on tone', that is a painting on which you can't distinguish anything because everything has the same color.

Of course the flashy colors of the tuna can barely do the trick of being tone on tone.
